Vianney Ampaire Omuhiga, known professionally as Ledra, is a well-established figure in Uganda’s music industry. Based in Kampala, the multi-talented artist excels as a music producer, vocalist, rapper, songwriter, arranger, and mixing and mastering engineer. His collaborations with prominent Ugandan artists like Apass, Ruyonga, Mun G, and Cindy have solidified his reputation as a top-tier producer. In 2023, his contributions earned him a nomination for Producer of the Year at the Ugandan Hip Hop Awards, a testament to his skill and influence. 

From High School rapper to Professional Producer

Ledra’s journey began in his high school days as a rapper frustrated by subpar beats. Determined to improve his sound, he started producing his own, and soon others took notice. What started as a personal fix turned into a career, with artists seeking out his beats. 

A proud Mukiga from Uganda’s Rukiga district, Ledra weaves his cultural heritage into his work. His latest EP, Akangye—meaning “mine” in Rukiga—doubles as both a declaration and a romantic sentiment: “You have all my blessings.”
